INTRODUCTION

English translation pending.

CORE DEFINITION

Proposed by Jiddu Krishnamurti, this is awareness without choosing: not selecting what to attend to and not rejecting anything, while remaining openly aware of whatever is present. It cultivates observation free of judgment, comparison, and preference, so that facts show themselves as they actually are instead of being trimmed to fit an expectation or a desire to fix them.

SCAFFOLDING EFFECT

psychology

Reduce cognitive load

- Bias-free observation: watch what arises without sorting it into good or bad - Suspends the commentator: the inner judge is quieted instead of being obeyed - Lets facts emerge: reality is not edited to fit a conclusion already held

anchor

Anchor fast decisions

Judgment and selection act as filters: they emphasize what confirms the observer's existing stance and quietly discard the rest. Dropping those filters restores contact with what is actually happening, and undistorted observation is what allows a real problem to be seen rather than a preferred and more comfortable version of it.
