CORE DEFINITION

A German term meaning 'center of gravity' or 'main point of effort'. It refers to the point where the enemy's strength is most concentrated, most critical, and whose destruction would lead to the collapse of the entire front. It refers not only to a physical location but also to a moral pillar or logistical hub.
