INTRODUCTION

English translation pending.

CORE DEFINITION

The W3 reflection model poses three questions. What asks what happened. So What asks what it means and what the significance is. Now What asks what to do next. As the minimal reflection framework from experience to action it is short enough for daily use, and its three layers of fact, meaning and action are what make it effective, preventing the common failure of reviewing without ever improving.

SCAFFOLDING EFFECT

psychology

Reduce cognitive load

- Stick to the three layers: fact, then meaning, then action, in that exact order. - Keep it truly minimal: remember the short format is exactly why it survives daily use. - Always end with a next step: no concrete action means the review has failed.

anchor

Anchor fast decisions

A three-layer progressive reflection: What for the fact, So What for the meaning and insight, and Now What for the action. Moving from description to meaning to action makes it the minimal effective review framework and stops reviewing from becoming recall without improvement.
