RPR
Version 1.0.0 · Updated 2026-07-30
CORE DEFINITION
R (Recognize): Recognize the problem; P (Process): Process and analyze; R (Resolve): Resolve the problem.
SCAFFOLDING EFFECT
Reduce cognitive load
The basic rhythm of problem-solving. Emphasizes fully understanding the problem before acting.
Anchor fast decisions
People tend to 'act as soon as they see a problem', but solving without understanding often treats symptoms. RPR sets a rhythm: first recognize (R) the full picture of the problem, then process/analyze (P) root causes and solutions, and finally resolve (R). The middle 'process/analyze' step forces understanding before action, reducing rework.
