Seebeck Effect
Version 1.0.0 · Updated 2026-07-30
CORE DEFINITION
When two different metals are connected to form a closed loop, if there is a temperature difference between the two junctions, an electric current will flow in the loop. The greater the temperature difference, the stronger the current.
SCAFFOLDING EFFECT
Reduce cognitive load
Difference generates electricity. Energy does not come from high temperature, but from 'temperature difference'. In a team, homogenization (same temperature) is lifeless; only by creating differences (cognitive differences, skill differences, personality differences) and connecting them, the differences themselves will continuously generate current.
Anchor fast decisions
When there is a temperature difference between the junctions of two dissimilar metals, an electric current is generated; the energy comes from the 'temperature difference' rather than high temperature itself. Metaphorically, connecting differences generates 'current'—homogenization is lifeless, but creating and connecting differences (cognitive/skill/personality differences) yields continuous output.
