CORE DEFINITION

When the crests of two waves meet, their amplitudes add, producing a stronger wave. Conversely, destructive interference occurs when a crest meets a trough, canceling each other out.

SCAFFOLDING EFFECT

psychology

Reduce cognitive load

The mechanism of resonance. The goal of teamwork is not "everyone contributes" but "everyone's peaks align." If the rhythm (phase) is inconsistent, even great effort will result in destructive interference, causing internal friction; only when phases align can the combined force be several times greater than the sum of individuals.

anchor

Anchor fast decisions

Constructive interference: in-phase waves superpose to increase amplitude, as opposed to destructive interference.
