SWOT Analysis
Version 1.0.0 · Updated 2026-07-30
CORE DEFINITION
By analyzing an organization's Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats, it assesses its competitive position and development strategy.
SCAFFOLDING EFFECT
Reduce cognitive load
Strategic health check table. It forces you to look at both internal (strengths/weaknesses) and external (opportunities/threats) factors, avoiding "blind spots." However, note that it only provides a snapshot, not weights or priorities.
Anchor fast decisions
Use a 2×2 to juxtapose internal and external factors: internal strengths S/weaknesses W, external opportunities O/threats T; strategies are generated by crossing them—SO attack, WO improve weaknesses to seize opportunities, ST use strengths to avoid threats, WT defend. It forces simultaneous internal and external consideration, avoiding "blind spots."
