Fictitious Commodities
Version 1.0.0 · Updated 2026-07-31
CORE DEFINITION
Refers to land, labor, and money. They are not inherently commodities produced for sale in the market (land is nature, labor is human life, money is a certificate of purchasing power), but the market economy forcibly commodifies them, inevitably leading to social disruption and resistance.
SCAFFOLDING EFFECT
Reduce cognitive load
Reflection on market boundaries. Reminds us that certain things (such as data privacy, human attention) should not be fully treated as tradable commodities. Over-commodification can lead to systemic social crises (double movement).
Anchor fast decisions
Commodities that exist in digital/informational form, without physical substance but with use or exchange value (e.g., game items, accounts, digital collectibles).
