360-Degree Feedback
Version 1.0.0 · Updated 2026-07-30
CORE DEFINITION
A performance appraisal method in which superiors evaluate subordinates, also including evaluations from subordinates, peers, customers, and self-evaluation, collecting feedback from all directions and multiple perspectives.
SCAFFOLDING EFFECT
Reduce cognitive load
Eliminate blind spots. It reminds employees that a one-way line of sight (especially top-down) is often one-sided and distorted. To gain true self-awareness, a comprehensive line-of-sight system must be established.
Anchor fast decisions
Based on 'multi-source feedback' and 'cognitive bias correction'. A single perspective (especially from superiors) is limited by status and contact scope, making it one-sided; cross-referencing multi-source data can present a more three-dimensional behavioral portrait, exposing blind spots in self-awareness.
