Self-fulfilling prophecy. If you are overly suspicious and constantly check on your partner for fear of infidelity, your behavior itself may drive them to annoyance and eventually infidelity. The actions you take to avoid the outcome actually create that outcome.
Anchor fast decisions
The actions taken to prevent a certain outcome become the very cause of that outcome, forming a closed causal loop. The mechanism is a 'self-fulfilling prophecy'—anxiety-driven behaviors alter the other person's responses, thereby creating the feared outcome.
