INTRODUCTION

English translation pending.

CORE DEFINITION

The practice records the circumstances of flow states during learning, following the account of flow as full absorption that arises when challenge and skill are matched, goals are clear, and feedback is immediate. By logging the task, difficulty, environment, and duration of each episode, a learner identifies the conditions that produce the state. The qualification is that flow is a by-product of those conditions, so it cannot be summoned directly.

SCAFFOLDING EFFECT

psychology

Reduce cognitive load

- Use Condition Logging: record task, difficulty, setting, and duration each time deep focus occurs. - Use Blocker Removal: identify the interruptions that reliably break your concentration and remove them.

anchor

Anchor fast decisions

Flow appears when the challenge sits just beyond current skill and feedback is immediate, which is why the same task produces absorption on one occasion and boredom or anxiety on another. Logging the conditions reveals which variables were actually present, so they can be arranged deliberately instead of waited for.
