Coulomb's Law
Version 1.0.0 · Updated 2026-07-30
CORE DEFINITION
The force between two charges is directly proportional to the product of their charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between them. Like charges repel, opposite charges attract.
SCAFFOLDING EFFECT
Reduce cognitive load
Distance decay in relationships. Influence or attraction decays quadratically with increasing distance (physical or psychological). If you want to maintain strong influence over others, you must stay very close. Remote management is inherently weak in effectiveness.
Anchor fast decisions
Coulomb's law describes the interaction force between two stationary point charges in a vacuum: it is proportional to the product of the charges and inversely proportional to the square of the distance, with direction along the line connecting them; like charges repel, opposite charges attract. It is one of the cornerstones of classical electromagnetism.
