CORE DEFINITION

A poor hybrid of a street (for living, slow movement, and connecting shops) and a road (for fast traffic). It aims to be both fast (wide lanes) and prosperous (shops on both sides). The result is neither fast (due to many traffic lights) nor safe, nor walkable, and it has extremely high maintenance costs.

The cost of functional confusion. When designing systems, one must clarify the functional positioning: is it a high-throughput "pipe" (Road) or a high-interaction "platform" (Street)? Trying to be both (Stroad) usually creates the most expensive junk.
