Every organism lives in its own specific sensory world (Umwelt). Bats live in a world of ultrasound, dogs in a world of smells, and ticks perceive only temperature and the scent of sweat. We think we see the "objective world," but in reality, we only see the "slice" that our senses allow us to perceive. -
