- Problem positioning: When arguing, first distinguish the level. Is it a factual dispute (ontology) or a methodological dispute (epistemology)? Many ineffective meetings occur because some people are discussing "whether this plan is good" (ontology), while others are discussing "how to prove it is good" (epistemology).
