Yin and Yang are mutually presupposed for each other's existence. Without Yin, Yang cannot transform; without Yang, Yin cannot be generated. 'Those skilled in supplementing Yang must seek Yang within Yin; those skilled in supplementing Yin must seek Yin within Yang.'
